The Story I Made in My Yard I: Last week, I felt so sad -maybe because of all the chaos the whole world is living in, perhaps because we are again on lockdown here in my country, and I feel so weak, or maybe because I feel my art will never be good enough for some people. This situation makes me realize how vulnerable we are as humans with all the stress and suffering we are enduring because of a microscopic virus. At that moment, I did not feel any inspiration coming to my soul, so I decided to go to my yard and find beauty in nature. I sat down and looked at the flowers I had in front of my house called “Hortensias”. I cut one and saw how unique creation is. I am a Christian and have always loved when Jesus said, “See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not make or spin their cloths. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor could dress like one of these.” (Matthew 6:28-29). I decided to make these images inspired by this beautiful flower and help me think in my art again and flow with my inner self. This is “The Story I Made in my Yard”.
